How it works
The browser decodes your JPEG onto a canvas the size of the photo, then canvas.toBlob('image/webp', quality) writes it as WebP. The slider starts at 88%. After you click Convert, the Converted pane shows the WebP size and the change from the JPEG; lower the quality and convert again for a smaller file.
