How it works
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your image is drawn onto an HTML Canvas element at the target dimensions, then exported as JPEG, PNG or WebP and downloaded directly to your computer. Presets scale the image to cover the preset size and crop the overflow from the centre, so nothing is stretched. Free mode uses the exact width and height you enter.
Processing runs in your browser
All resizing is done using the browser's Canvas API. Our servers are not involved at any point in the process.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I resize to any pixel dimensions?
- Yes, up to 10,000 pixels on each side and 50 megapixels in total. Common sizes include 1920×1080, 1280×720, and 500×500, and any custom size within that limit works.
- Will the image stay proportional?
- Lock the aspect ratio option to keep the original proportions when you change one dimension. Unlock it to stretch or squash the image to exact independent dimensions. Presets never stretch: they fill the preset size and crop the edges from the centre.
- Is my image uploaded to resize it to exact pixels?
- The canvas is set to the width and height you choose and the image is drawn onto it in this tab. Our servers are not involved at any point.
- How accurate are the output dimensions?
- The output matches the requested pixel dimensions exactly. The Canvas API renders at whole-pixel boundaries, so a request for 800×600 produces an image that is precisely 800 by 600 pixels.
