How do I calculate tip per person?

Multiply the bill by the tip percentage to get the total tip. Divide both the tip and the bill by the number of people to get each person's share. For example: a £60 bill with 20% tip = £12 tip total, or £3 tip each for 4 people.

How it works

The tip amount is calculated as bill × (tip percentage / 100). Each person's tip is tip amount divided by number of guests; each person's total is (bill + tip) divided by guests. The round-up option applies Math.ceil() to each person's total and derives the adjusted total from there. All arithmetic runs in JavaScript in your browser.
